Every day without help is a day without hope.

PLEASE don't turn your back on this guy. He's young, unattached and has the freedom to do whatever he wants. Only he squanders his time playing video games, working on his Myspace homepage and drinking beers at the same bar each weekend. He has no clue that someday (not too far in the future) he will spend his Saturdays performing circles on his riding lawnmower, vacationing at theme parks and falling asleep before midnight on New Year’s Eve. Yes, it is a very sad, but true tale.

“How exactly can I help?” you ask.

Well, my brother and I have published Die Happy: 499 Things Every Guy’s Got to Do While He Still Can (St. Martin’s Press 2006). It's a collection of all things a guy should do before he becomes a responsible, respectable, mortgage-paying human being. The list includes events such as the Running of the Bulls, Mardi Gras and Oktoberfest, outdoor adventures, travels, must-attend sporting venues, jobs before your real jobs and other good times like engaging in a Santa Claus Pub Crawl. And all you have to do is tell this guy or someone like him about it or heck simply go buy it for him right now. It's the first step to a lifetime of memories.

Now before you click away and turn to another cause like forgotten puppies or french kids who have no brie cheese, take one final look at this guy and imagine him in stain-free Dockers with a cell phone clipped to his belt and in line at Disney's It's a small, small world. Then ask yourself, "Can I really turn my back on him?"
